ABC Agreement

An agreement between a broker with a seat on the NYSE floor and a firm he or she works in. It dictates that in the case when an employee stops working for the firm, he must transfer the seat to another employee of the firm, keep his seat but purchase another for the company, or sell the seat and return revenue to the firm. Similar agreements consist between other brokerage houses and its employees on other exchanges.
